Switch storage is a total mess

Postby BanjoPickles » October 14th, 2018, 5:29 am

So, I read that the physical release of Starlink will require a 12GB download upon release! It’s crazy, because so many of these titles require downloads that eat up precious space on my memory card (maybe I should have sprung for the 400GB card). My question is this: what’s the point of reverting back to cartridges if you still have these crazy downloads? It’s a bit frustrating!

This was inevitable as soon as they announced cartridges you just knew full well it would have to be supported by download patches.
But I guess Nintendo does day 1 patches right ?

I hear ya, but what other form of media could they use for the Swith’s form factor? Their options were limited to download only, which would’ve required them to put in way more flash memory, or maybe mini discs? I’m not even sure they would’ve had enough room in there for anything other than a cartridge slot.
