We all know Microsoft got their butts kicked this generation, but I just read an interesting article about how Microsoft is now trying to win the video game wars by making consoles irrelevant.https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidthier ... 3a66ced6a8
Apparently they want to make themselves the Netflix/Steam of the video game world, hoping that consoles will converge and it won't even matter what platform you use in the future. Thoughts?
In fact you should check out this: https://gematsu.com/2019/02/rumor-micro ... -to-switch
And it has happened with both Cuphead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VSBFy9Wxb8
and Hellblade: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xb1BGLGS_UY
And related to this Microsoft has teamed up with THQ Nordic to release games on Steam and disc formats.: https://variety.com/2018/gaming/news/wi ... 202911522/
And if you look at the Gematsu link it mentions that Ori and the Blind Forest will get published on Switch by THQ Nordic as it similar to the old THQ publishing Microsoft games on GBA and DS back in the day.
The nice thing is I would never need a Xbox console as they may port Rare Replay on Switch with possibly the Nintendo ip games involving Donkey Kong and Star Fox and maybe the THQ GBA/DS rare titles added to that said port with Nintendo system appearance combined with THQ Nordic involvements something the Xbox One original version could not do. I also hope THQ Nordic works with Marvelous/Microsoft to bring over both Blinx games remastered for Switch as Marvelous has some of the ex Artoon devs that got absourbed by AQ Interactive/Marvelous merger. And maybe Voodoo Vince: Remastered as the Steam version has potato system requirements based on a OG Xbox game which makes sense as Switch GPU tech is the same as OG Xbox only way more advanced.
