Okay, on the plus side Halo Infinite is real.
On the downside they are clearly struggling with things. There was pop-in during the gameplay clip which for a console as powerful as the Series X is you'd think this sort of optimization would have been figured out by now.
This game is going to be rushed and launch with a half-baked game similar to what they did with Halo: Guardians. Only the single player shipped on disk and multiplayer was a download with a majority of the features being released later. Of course, this is only my opinion based on some super sketchy animation of the Spirit Covenant troop carrier animation looking like a jerky claymation attempt in the background. They also did not demo any sort of multiplayer, split screen, or co-op action.
For the Xbox Series X to be the most powerful console launching this fall, the Microsoft games being published for it looked like something you'd see on the 360 or Switch. They didn't do themselves any favors in winning the graphic wars with Sony on this demo real. Any of the games that actually looked good will also be available on the PS4 down the road.
I'm too old for the dark, dreary, the world is going to end games. Unfortunately, that seemed to be a majority of what's coming out this fall.
There were a few glimmering hopes that were shown. My favorite hands down was Pyschonauts 2 with Jack Black. Black singing a song and a video of him talking to the songwriter was epic. That made the show for me. The Gunk by Steamworld developers had possibilities. Phantasy Star Online 20th Anniversary Edition was bright and colorful. Crossfire X looked like a next gen game although it could have been called Call of Duty and play fine on a PS4 or Xbox One. The final game announced was Fable. As it was merely an announcement video it's too early to say one way or the other on that one.
What are you guys' thoughts on this?
