Mario Odyssey: Too Many Moons?

Postby DaHeckIzDat » March 20th, 2021, 4:59 am

I've spent the last week playing Mario Odyssey on my new Switch, and while I'm definitely enjoying it I can't help but think there are just WAAYYY too many moons to collect. Maybe about half of them are actually fun to find, like the ones you get for exploring, completing obstacle courses and challenge rooms, etc. But then others are just lying around in random places, hidden so that you either have to look at a guide or obsessively comb every inch of every map to find them. That's where the game goes from being fun to just being tedious and sometimes even frustrating.

Does anyone else feel like this?

As a 100% completionist myself it is tough to grind away on a game where you could waste 100's of hours. With Mario Odyssey, just collect enough moons so you can see the whole game. I think it is 250 to access Dark Side, a secret level. Pretty much what I did otherwise I would have ended up loathing the game.
