It really does. It is a bit pricey.

I am waiting for benchmarks. I have 200+ Steam titles, would definitely consider. Wonder if Nintendo will now finally upgrade the Switch with a beefier CPU/GPU.

It looks interesting, but not for that price for a handheld.

i think the $399 version is fair for the specs..it's very powerful looks like it will be able to run the higher end emulated systems
and it also can be played on the TV

How do you play it on a tv? Do the controllers detach like Switch?

Can I play Age of Empires II HD on the Deck? Otherwise, 90% of what I would use it for I have a Switch that I already have the games running.

By the way, names for some of the newer systems strike me in odd ways...

Nintendo Switch - as a kid, I lived in terror of the peach tree out front near the mail box, as I was a bit...rambunctious... and was the recipient of a few switches...

Steam Deck - my mind is weird, and two things come to mind with the name Deck - Decker (namely from Star Trek), the other Decking someone, which is like Striking someone...

I don't think the movie Airplane would be given the green light in today's ultrasensitive me-too environment. LOL

What I'm wondering about the Steam Deck is, is there an audience for this kind of thing? I can imagine gamers who put so much effort into their state-of-the-art "rigs" would be looking for a watered-down portable experience.

There are a few games I wouldn't mind having on the go, such as Record of Agarest War, Sonic CD, Sonic Adventure DX AND THE Rosenkreuzstilette games, though I am NOT paying the rate the Deck is going for at present, since the Switch n Evercade (and my collection of other consoles) make up the need

And yes, most of the Abrahams/Zucker movies would not be made today. Nor most if not all Mel Brooks films...
