Cruis'n Blast is definitely my kind of game. Fast and fun arcade games flourished on the Dreamcast. Then after the PS2 came out a law was passed saying every game had to be long, realistic, and boring.
I'm not sure what you're on about here, Dave. There were a TON of fast paced, non-realistic, and relatively short games in the 6th generation era. ESPECIALLY with racers! Auto Modellista, Burnout, Flatout, Need for Speed, Splashdown, and the Spy Hunter reboot are great examples. I know today's trend towards "download only" kind of sucks, but it HAS enabled a lot of fast paced arcade games from indie developers. There's always been arcade style games for those willing to look.
