So I've been playing this quite a bit lately and haven't formed a very strong opinion. The graphics are great and the fighting action is solid. The story mode is probably the closest will ever get to another Mortal Kombat film.
One thing that does bother me is how the Crypt section (where the unlockables are) can only be accessed if you're online and signed in. This is because it's all tied to the Playstation store. They want you to give up and just pay cold hard cash instead.
Apparently there's no unlockables (or sense of progression) unless you're a paying online, which has a pretty detrimental effect on the offline experience. I mean, I beat one of the towers and I have no idea if anything was unlocked. They show a bunch of earned gems that disintegrate because I'm not signed in to their server.
