I usually play games with friends most Mondays after work. Decided to post weekly recap:

Another solid Monday Night. Good attendance with Brent, Kevin, Scott M, and Brad on hand. Served Dark and Stormies, along with Piner and Heavy Seas Tropicannon beer.

The games:
Star Wars Demolition (Dreamcast) - 4p splitscreen. Now I realize why have such little recollection of this one. Really bad! Brent says D- but I think my F is more accurate.
NHL 2K2 (Dreamcast) - had to have a hockey game for the Stanley Cup playoffs. It was a raucous game with Brent/Scott M vs Dave/Kevin. This game is so fast! Kevin and I lost in OT when I didn't know I how to cover the puck. 3-2.
Windjammers (Switch) - Neo Geo frisbee-throwing remake is very faithful and a lot of fun. Scott M with the win. B?
Jim Power (SNES) - Platformer with 3-D glasses and "virtual reality" according to the box. Kevin said this made him sick but Brad hooked (without the glasses). 18K high score. C?
Sonic Team Racing (Switch) - Mixed feelings about the choppy 4P split screen but not terrible. C-?
A Day At the Races (Philips cdi) - horse racing game where you lay down your bets and watch a short race. D?
Summer Heat Beach Volleyball (PS2) - Fun, easy to play game. 2-on-2 action. Everybody got a smoking hot babe except Brad who got stuck with a black dude. Great soundtrack.

Pinball:
Brent won Pirates pinball game with 26M.

Aftermath: Cured in Columbia. Classy joint with plenty of beers on tap and burger special.

Good impressions, any plans to review Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy for Switch along with re-reviews of the original PS1 trilogy Crash Bandicoot games for comparison sake, also where is the Atari Flashback Classics Switch review as you where working on it, but it been radio silent since then?

That sounds like it was a really fun evening. Unfortunately for me my friends and I only meet up to have a gaming session once every few months. Still it's great fun when the time comes round.
Next time we're gonna play Dungeons and Dragons instead, never played this before and already it's been a right laugh creating a back story!

Love the recap idea - sounds like fun and gives some insight into future reviews coming down the pipeline.

Glad you picked up "A Day At the Races" after I mentioned it. I have that one but never played it. But it's always good to see the chance for a new CD-i review.

Windjammers - I have it for my Neo Geo MVS cabinet, and I have the PS4 remake (which should be identical to the Switch version). I think the original is a B game and, like you, I pegged the remake as a B too. However, the Neo Geo version is so expensive that the PS4/Switch version is definitely the best way to play it. And the online multiplayer is a nice added bonus. I did a full write-up on my Windjammer thoughts on the forums before, at this link: https://videogamecritic.com/forums/view ... indjammers

Great post. Timely too, coinciding with the 20th anniversary, it gives a look into the basis of what goes in to writing the reviews. Looks like a fun process.

I didn't even notice the other tv at first. I have two TV's as well. I currently have a backwards compatible wii, n64, ps2, and original xbox on my CRT. My HDTV has the Retron 2 (NES, SNES) and Switch.

I love posts where we get to see game rooms. Very awesome. I might be in the minority but I'd love to see more of these types of updates in the future.
