Generation Zero (PC, Xbox One)

Postby comchia » January 25th, 2020, 12:06 am

So, thanks to the current Steam sale, and having a real-ass gaming PC, I finally picked up the FPS Generation Zero with expansion for $22. I played this in a more rough state last year, and, despite the flaws, I actually loved it, but, due to real life, didn't finish it, which I'm hoping to change now.
The game itself is rather eclectic, both in its visual and gameplay styles. It visually is a weird mix of 80's fashion and Terminator 1-esque dystopia (especially in the soundtrack, which sounds just like classic Brad Fiedel), with the gameplay combining elements of survival horror and semi-realistic FPS. The difficulty of the game, in both the ultra-aggressive AI and scarce ammo, makes every dead robot super satisfying, and the story is slowly, but surely, told through numerous audio logs and journals, throwing back to Bioshock.
Overall, this is a game I enjoy immensely, especially with many of the early issues worked out (and still expanding upon). Have any of y'all played it?
