Fascinating thread! It reminds me of Tom Waits. People who can get really into his music love it, but to the casual listener his voice isn't very fun.

Demon's Souls isn't some esoteric opaque game, it's a modern game with old-school/classic sensibilities. It's part King's Field, part Zelda II.
