Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (PS4)

I've been replaying Hollow Knight lately, and that left me in the mood to try out some other Metroidvanias. I picked up Bloodstained because from what everyone says, its Castlevania: Symphony of the Night with 3D graphics and modern improvements.

So...am I the only one who feels like this game is sluggish somehow? I can't explain why, it just seems like everything in this game is happening in slow motion compared to SotN.
