With the news of mass shootings happening all over the country the one song that (appropriately) has been in my head for a while is the famous Peter, Paul, and Mary song, "Blowin in the Wind". Although an anti-war song, I feel that this depressingly fits what is going on right now, it always moves me to tears every time I hear it.

A song titled "1989" by a group called "Nestor". If you like 80's style rock I would check them out. The fact that I graduated from HS in 1989 may have something to do with why I like that song so much but I digress. Dang I am old!

Well I heee-ar you went to Saratoga...and your horse naturally won! Then you flew your Learjet up to Nova Scotia...to see the total eclipse of the sun!

Ok so my wife vastly prefers the Carly Simon rendition of "You're So Vain" over mine, but my buddy and I heard it on the way home from Wrigley Field about a month ago and it's been stuck in my head ever since.

Story of my Life by Social Distortion. The last few days I can’t stop singing it.

Had several pieces going thru my head recently, though today has been an odd combination of We Don't Talk About Bruno and the soundtrack to Contra Hard Corps (Genesis)

"Hitting and Running" by 38 Special. I've been checking out their back catalog on You Tube the last couple of days. A good bit of which I like. But this song is really sticking in my head for some reason. It might be the chorus that's doing it. Or the intro. Or a little bit of both. Either way, it's a great song.

Oh yeah this will definitely get stuck in your head. A classic.

I knew a guy named Sylvain once, and I would sing to him "You're Sylvain... you probably think this song is about you - you're Sylvain!"

With Memorial Day around the corner I keep going back and forth between these songs in my head, the patriotic ones: Neil Diamond's "America", Green Day's "American Idiot", "This land", "Big Rock Candy Mountain", and my favorite patriotic American song "Philadelphia Freedom" by Sir Elton John (which is ironic considering its sung by an Englishman).
