Just watched Clerks III. Tons of fan service in this one! Apparently they tried to bring back everyone from the first two movies.
Not as funny as the first two, but very emotional and does a good job of bringing the series full circle.
One thing that surprised me was that Kevin Smith included a little video intro, saying thanks for purchasing the disc and saying how important it is to purchase physical media. I was kind of surprised. I'm a big physical media fan (obviously) but I don't see many people speaking out about it any more. It feels like everyone is resigned to a future of streaming.

If anyone would do that, it would be Kevin Smith!

I am a huge Alice Cooper fan. Of late, I have not liked much of his new music. I got a chance to see Super Duper, Alice Cooper. They should have called it to shine a torch up your rear. 2 hours about how amazing Alice was and he did not mean to drink too much. Then another section was about how he did not mean to take so much cocaine.
Purportedly the song Pass the Gun Around from the Album DaDa was about him feeling so low as he was taking so much cocaine he was bleeding from his eyes. Not sure about that but the song is a real downer. It is of course not mentioned in SDAC. Nor is Flush the Fashion, Special Forces nor Zipper catches skin.

Not a film, per se, but I finally decided to check out the latest viral video I keep hearing everyone talk about, Skibidi Toilet. And the top comment sums it up perfectly: "So THIS is what's giving kids brain damage these days!"
Here's a link if you want to experience the madness yourself: https://youtu.be/Qrm0uvuaP_I?si=fAIVMXLJWg-w-L0y

Celebrating its 35th anniversary, and with Halloween a month and a half away, "Beetlejuice" one of Tim Burton's treasures and for good reason. Perfectly balancing, the comical, the eccentric, and of course the macabre seamlessly with effects that stand the test of time, backed up with good performances from Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, Winoa Ryder, and of course the showstealing Michael Keaton in the title role, it's still a ghoulish good time. Who hasn't gotten nightmares when they saw the snake form of Beetlejuice? So convincing it's frightening! Gotta love the Harry Belafonte numbers put in like Day-O and Jump in the Line adding more fun into the mix. I love Beetlejuice's quotes from "It's Showtime" to "Go ahead make my millenium! Wa ha hahahahaha!"
A long overdue sequel is on it's way coming next year! Let's hope they still know how to do it right, including having Keaton in the role, it wouldn't be right without him, that's a role he was born to play with that kind of energy and invention.

Plus, he's now the proper age to play a corpse!

The idea that a sequel to a 35-year-old blockbuster is "long overdue" instead of a redundant cash grab is very strange to me.

With Autumn here decided on two good ones:
Fantastic Mr. Fox - stop-motion animation at one of its finest! With the voices of George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Bill Murray, Willem Dafoe, and Michael Gambon, a nice charmer that feels like an animated Ocean's 11 with some nice Fall settings and the usual Wes Anderson eccentricities, and other zaniness.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. - arguably my favorite installment in the HP franchise. This too epitomizes Autumn with the back to school setting, theme of magic, the lush Autumn settings even at night. Then there's the Dementors, the Boggary, Professor Lupin (David Thewlis), Professor Trelawny (Emma Thompson), Buckbeak, the Marauder's Map, and the Patronus. All mastered under the direction of Alfonso Cuaron with the perfect balance of magic and mischeviousness.

Finally got around to seeing Guardians of the Galaxy 3. I really enjoyed the first movie, thought the second was alright, but this one was God awful. Every cheesy cliche was thrown in; I’d list them but it’s just too boring.

I watched it in the movies and I was amazed!!! At how poor it was. The second one is good on repeated views. The 3rd was just so bad. Though that is marvel all over. They love to flog a dead horse.
