I did see a thing online (before the last 3 (5) movies called the "Machete order" (no idea where the hell that name came from), that recommended watching them in this order: 4, 5, 1, 2, 3, 6. I think the idea is it gives the equivalent of flashbacks to the series. You could probably start with Rogue Squadron first (probably skip Solo...) for a bit more.

Google "machete order" for more info.

If you're feeling real sassy, find copies of the "despecialized version". That's a whole rabbit hole to explore...

Not sure about the machete stuff. I would not want to miss out on two of the best characters in the saga: Qui Gon Gin and Darth Maul.

Watched Attack of the Clones last night. The Anakin/Padme scenes are a little hard to take, but loved the battles between Jango Fett and Obi Wan. Yoda was so worthless in the prequels. Could never see the future or make up his mind.

Revenge of the Sith is next, but after that? I can't decide if Solo or Rogue One come next chronologically.

The movie set years before A New Hope takes place earlier than the movie set minutes before A New Hope.

Solo is an origin story for Han Solo. Rogue One is about how Princess Leia got the Death Star plans.

I watched Rogue One last night, and while I thought it was pretty good, I was really turned off by the CGI Princess Leia and Grand Moff Tarkin. They did not look real. They did look creepy.

The thing is, the scene with Princess Leia would have been better without showing her face. Seeing that trademark hairdo from behind, everyone knew who she was.

Also, Peter Kushing was 6 feet tall. In this movie he looked much taller.

Yes I found the CGI versions of Leia and Moff Tarkin to be pretty disturbing, up there with the CGI version of Sir Laurence Oliver in Sky Captain and Egon Spengler in Ghostbusters Afterlife. Think of all the other disturbing possibilities....

This is the correct answer.

Solo wasn’t that bad though.
