I am not sure what your point was, but anyone who lived during the era certainly knew that Poison was not a one-hit wonder. They were incredibly popular for several years.

I was replying to this: "The fact that a hair metal band did not hit the top 40 routinely or often means nothing, those ranks were filled with pop/light rock crap throughout the 80's."

Some hair bands did have a lot of top 40 hits. They were like boy bands with guitars.

Poison had a few hits. I was so young but right before Nirvana came out in late 1991, bands like Poison, Skid Row, and of course Warrant were huge on MTV. Those bands got blacklisted immediately after Nirvana broke in late 1991 with the Teen Spirit video. For whatever reason Guns N Roses and Metallica stayed on MTV through at least 1993, I have no idea why they stayed on but Poison, Skid Row, and Warrant were toast.

It’s not surprising that Poison and Skid Row had multiple hits. But most people don’t know that Warrant had a couple hits before Cherry Pie. Their first album had a couple hits like Heaven. I really liked those 3 bands. Warrant imo should’ve had some hits from their 1992 album Dog Eat Dog but it was all alternative rock save for the last couple Guns n Roses videos through 1993.

From Warrant’s album after Cherry Pie, 1992’s Dog Eat Dog, I feel there are songs that could’ve been hits. “Machine Gun”, Hole in the Wall” and perhaps especially “Bitter Pill” all imo were good enough to at least get airplay. And then who knows, I think people would’ve really liked it. Heck, they’re album after that, 1995’s Ultraphobic is a great album. They really incorporated grunge into that album very well.

I really liked Lumberjack. The other songs on their debut album that I loved was Down On Me and Dirty Little Mind. Both were really fun in addition to Lumberjack, of course. It's a great self-titled album if anyone is interested.

Best hair metal one hit wonder I can think of is Turn Up The Radio by Autograph. Just a fun, upbeat song that did sound great on the radio.
