Sorry, the correct answer is Fellowship of the Ring!

It featured the entire cast interacting which each other, and all the characters are so likeable.
The Nazgul were scary as hell.
Sean Bean as Boromir. The scene with him finding the ring in the snow is my favorite.
The Balrog was incredible.

Having just watched the trilogy, I'm asking for a "skinny cut" where they remove all the boring stuff, reducing the films to "normal" running times! If I were an editor, I'd axe:
- all the romance scenes with Aragorn and Liv Tyler
- all the scenes with Gollum talking to himself
- most of the Treebeard stuff
- and for goodness sake, all those extra endings. Not only did those endings add NOTHING to the films, but I actually feel as if they diminish them in a way! Obviously Peter Jackson didn't want this thing to end.

RINGS of Power on Amazon. The must-see set of programmes. Amazing in their scope, with sensational graphics, Stella performances and an amazing score. It is such a pity that the plots are atrocious, and it feels like it was written by a 12-year-old. It has to be seen to be believed how absolutely they have trashed all that made LOTR great.

Also, the game, you should play .... Golem. Yep, everyone's ring keeper has his own game. Though it turns out to be more of a ring piece. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0acyYZAfio

All three of them, I cannot choose between them.

Whoa really? I think that's clearly the "worst" of the three. It has the most boring parts and not too much happens, just as it's getting good it's over. It's Two Towers for me.

I've also been there. I went during filming about 25 years ago, when I didn't even realize what was going on or what these films were going to become. I got to see a few more locations, including one at the Mt. Cook area, but Hobbiton was the most impressive to me, because it just seemed to fit all of those rolling hills so well, almost like it was made for it.

I went again in the Fall of 2023 when I was visiting friends and decided to observe Sukkoth with them in New Zealand instead of my usual trip to Israel. We decided to take a day trip and do the dinner tour there. Things sure had changed -- it was just a set when I saw it decades ago. They turned it into a little on-going community with a pub called the Green Dragon Inn (which I believe was there before, but I am not sure -- in any case, it now was open for business), and a nice absence of filming equipment. I ended up having several of their beers at Green Dragon Inn. I also bought a few of their beers to take back. One of my best friends owns a brewery in Houston and is the master brewer there, so it was kind of cool to bring those to one of his tasting parties.

They also were building and were almost finished with a new structure in the middle of the grounds that looks like a full hobbit hole on the inside (they ended up calling it Bagshot Row). They were going to host some of their dinners from there from now on instead of that pub structure they had, if I understood correctly, but the main feature of it was to have a real interior hobbit hole with its rooms.

So of course, on my next visit, I fully intend to book that new part of the experience. Bagshot Row looked rather charming, what little we were able to see of it in its incomplete form.

The cool thing about the Queenstown visit, is that I got to see a few props as well! Aragorn's Ring and Arwen's Brooch, and the best thing of all: I got to wear Frodo's Cloak and hold Sting as well! Here's some photos:

Zach I'm curious where do you currently live?

Oh I currently live in the small town of South Glens Falls, New York. Not the most exciting place, but it does have a few virtures such as a nice walking trail along the Hudson River with some nice wildlife encounters (fox, rabbit, deer, eagles, turtles, and so forth), a bit of waterfalls, plenty of independent businesses, a bowling alley, some historic places. And as a bonus, Glens Falls, was once the hometown of pro wrestler Hacksaw Jim Duggan (whom I even met 9 years ago and got his autograph!)

Ah ok. That was not long after my first few trips. I went in 1999, 2000, and 2002. New Zealand is one of the best places in the world to vacation. Seeing the LOTR sites, especially the Hobbiton site, is pretty magical when you've seen the movies. I think the first time I saw it, although I was very lucky to see it as it wasn't yet open to the public, I just didn't appreciate it as I didn't realize what the movies would become. I had imagined when I heard about it a production that was much less. But when I saw the site again, it was much more significant.

Did you do any bungee jumping or sky diving while there? I did several bungee jumps on my first trip in Queenstown -- on the top of that Queenstown gondola, then on that bridge where bungee jumping all started, but then finally over Nevis Canyon, which was ... a crazy place to jump. The drop was almost 450 ft.

This time around in 2023, I decided to return to Nevis Canyon in Queenstown, and they had added two new experiences to the bungee jump: a giant swing over the canyon, and a catapult. Those were even more thrilling (translated, scary) than the bungee jump was. I also did another skydive, this time over Auckland.

I really recommend New Zealand to anyone as a vacation spot. It's just one of the best places in the world to visit. Queenstown in particular is one of the most beautiful little hamlets in the world, with an incredible bay view that is just mind-blowing.

EDIT: By the way, here are some of the videos I got of the Nevis canyon bungee jump, the canyon swing, and the canyon catapult. Also attaching a video of my tandem skydive, which was at 18000 ft.
