This was hard for me as there are so many outstanding album openers but as I was putting this list together, I found it was mostly comprised of songs that had an impact on my musical tastes throughout my life, not necessarily the best openers, or even my favorite opening tracks. I also limited my list to 10. I love these musical topics.

Boston - "More Than A Feeling" (Boston)
Sweet - "Ballroom Blitz" (Desolation Boulevard - US Version)
King Crimson - "21st Century Schizoid Man" (In the Court of the Crimson King)
Rush - "Overture" (2112)
Pink Floyd - "Speak to Me/Breathe" (Dark Side of the Moon)
Killing Joke - "Autonomous Zone" (Pylon)
Asia - "Heat of the Moment" (Asia)
Judas Priest - "Painkiller" (Painkiller)
Angel City (Angels) - "Take a Long Line" (Face to Face - US Version)
Genesis - "The Musical Box" (Nursery Cryme)

"Loser" - Beck (Mellow Gold)
"Break On Through" - The Doors
"Purple Haze" - Jimi Hendrix (Are You Experienced?)
"Sunday Bloody Sunday" - U2 (War)
"Pink Moon" - Nick Drake (Pink Moon)
"This is a Call" - Foo Fighters
"Hells Bells" - AC/DC (Back in Black)
"Head Like a Hole" - Nine Inch Nails (Pretty Hate Machine)
