1985: I'm going to cheat here. I don't feel very strongly about any 1985 albums, and I really hate having to decide between the Throwing Muses debut and Wendy Carlos for 1986, so I'll just put Throwing Muses here. Sue me. I've also updated my post on the first page to include this tremendous album.
