White Christmas?

How much snow is required to constitute a white christmas. All the local Maryland weather forecasters say it's not happening, but when I look outside there are snowflakes. Is accumulation required?

Please advise so I know whether I can enjoy a white Christmas or am living a lie.

Depends on the area. Down south snow fall or snow left from an old snowfall is enough.

Living in Minnesota, I know the "official" recording here requires 1 inch of snow on the ground on Christmas morning. Your milage may vary.

I always enjoy snowfall on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. So festive.

I'm looking out my back window here, and all I see everywhere is green. We've not had a single flake of snow here in my neck of the woods for a couple of weeks now. In fact, we've mostly have gotten rain. And while I like the fact that I don't have to go out and freeze my butt off shoveling snow, it just dosen't seem like Christmas without at least a few inches of the white stuff on the ground.
