I know this is a VIDEO GAME board, and these type of threads usually do not go through. But I was wondering what the favourite films of everyone here were.

Here's my top 25:

1. American Beauty (1999, Sam Mendes)
1. Bicycle Thieves (1948, Vittorio de Sica)
3. 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968, Stanley Kubrick)
4.  A Clockwork Orange (1975, Stanley Kubrick)
5. Taxi Driver (1976, Martin Scorcese)
6. 8 1/2 (1963, Federico Fellini)
7. The Godfather (1974, Francis Ford Coppola)
8. Reservoir Dogs (1992, Quentin Tarantino)
9. South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (1999, Trey Parker)
10. Sunset Boulevard (1950, Billy Wilder)
11. Blue Velvet (1986, David Lynch)
12. Nashville (1975, Robert Altman)
13. Nights of Cabiria (1957, Federico Fellini)
14. Metropolis (1926, Fritz Lang)
15. Koyaanisqatsi (1983, Godfrey Reggio)
16. Andrei Rublev (1966, Andrei Tarkovsky)
17. The Maltese Falcon (1941, John Huston)
18. Boogie Nights (1997, Paul Thomas Anderson)
19. Wall-E (2008, Andrew Stanton)
20. Psycho (1960, Alfred Hitchcock)
21. El Topo (1969, Alejandro Jodorowksy)
22. Battleship Potemkin (1925, Sergei Eisenstein)
23. La Dolce Vita (1960, Federico Fellini)
24. Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982, Amy Heckerling)
25. Pulp Fiction (1994, Quentin Tarantino)

Honourable Mentions:
Cinema Paradiso (1988, Giuseppe Tornatore)
Midnight Cowboy (1969, John Schlesinger)
Belle de Jour (1967, Luis Bunuel)
Breathless (1960, Jean-Luc Godard)
The 400 Blows (1959, Francois Truffaut)
Happiness (1998, Todd Solondz)
Crumb (1995, Terry Zwigoff)
Citizen Kane (1941, Orson Welles)
Allegro non troppo (1975, Bruno Bozzetto)
Eraserhead (1976, David Lynch)
Solaris (1972, Andrei Tarkovsky)
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004, Adam McKay)

To tie this in to gaming, have any of your favorite movies been games? What did you think of the games?

The Godfather (Xbox 360) was decent, in my opinion. A bit limited, though.
Reservoir Dogs (Playstation 2) was awful. The gameplay was deriative and glitchy, and the only actor from the film who did any voice work was Michael Madsen (Mr. Blonde).
South Park Rally (Playstation) is awesome. It's not technically tied in to the movie, but it's my favourite racing game.
Wall-E is supposed to be a decent video game. Haven't played it, though.
Does Solaris (Atari 2600) have anything to do with the Tarkovsky film?

Also, in no particular order:

Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back
Star Wars: Return of the Jedi
Blade Runner (I've seen this one alot more times than I'd like to admit )
2001: A Space Odyssey
The Terminator (I like all of them but I've always liked the first one more)
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
George Romero's Dawn of the Dead
Back the the Future (Part 1)
Goldfinger (James Bond)
Forrest Gump
Saving Private Ryan
The Godfather Part II (I prefer the 2nd to the 1st)
Scarface
Apocalpse Now
Planet of the Apes (the 60's one)
Pulp Fiction
Reservior Dogs
Halloween (John Carpenter's)
Dance's With Wolves
Army of Darkness

To relate it to videogames, I've played the Scarface game which was obviously a Vice City clone but was still enjoyable and they changed it up a bit. And I've played most Star Wars games on the movies and  several Terminator games including the awesome Sega CD version. I heard there was a descent PC game of Blade Runner, but I've never played it as I don't play PC games.

Interesting to see Wall-E in that first post, in relation to the other films in your list. Makes me want to check out the film. Also, kudos to whoever said Clerks. This is my list in no particular order (apart from clerks because its obviously just been mentioned):

Clerks
Mad Max 2
Empire Records
Princess Mononoke
Snake In The Eagles Shadow
Drunken Master
Iron Monkey
Almost Famous
High Fidelity
Fight Club
Requiem For A Dream
Lost In Translation
Garden State
The Chumscrubber

I tend to watch a lot of the indie films which come out, like Studio Ghibli a lot (Whisper of The Heart and Only Yesterday spring to mind), like kung-fu films (Fearless, with Jet Li, is my favourite of the more modern ones).

I can't believe I forgot Apocalypse Now. Astonishing movie filled with memorable classic scenes from beginning to end. The movie could have just as well been an overblown disaster considering the enormous difficulties they had in making it.

Everyone get ready for a messed up list of favorites (not in order):

Nosferatu - 1922
King Kong - 1933
The Lost World - 1925
Citizen Kane - 1941
Star Trek: The Motion Picture - 1979
Lethal Weapon 2 - 1989
The Matrix - 1999
The Longest trilogy to make in history: Terminator 1- 3

That's good for now.

Does Solaris (Atari 2600) have anything to do with the Tarkovsky film?

I don't think so.  Tarkovsky's Stalker did inspire the PC game of the same name, which is getting a sequel later this month.  Stalker (the movie) just narrowly missed my top ten:

1.  2001:  A Space Odyssey  (Stanley Kubrick)
2.  Chimes at Midnight (Orson Welles)
3.  Medea (Lars von Trier)
4.  Touch of Evil (Orson Welles)
5.  Careful (Guy Madden)
6.  Don't Look Back (D.A. Pennebaker)
7.  Stroszek (Werner Herzog)
8.  The Birds (Hitchcock)
9.  M (Fritz Lang)
10.  Dr. Strangelove (Stanley Kubrick)
