Inspired by the speed running community, “SpeedRunners” is best described as a competitive, platforming racing game.
With a variety of hilariously wacky characters to choose from you compete against up to four friends locally or online. Unlike other racers there is no finish line in sight. Rounds are won by speeding so far ahead of the pack, the person furthest away is pushed off the screen eliminating them from that round. That first elimination triggers a timer resulting in the screen becoming smaller and smaller until you are left with a post card sized space to race in. This leads to intense, often hilarious moments where everyone focuses hard to stay on screen. Even those trailing behind have a chance of victory.
Every competitor has at their disposal a grappling hook that can attach to certain ledges and if timed well can increase their momentum. This along with boost pads scattered throughout the stage can help you build up so much speed it feels like you're flying.
Adding to the challenge are obstacles such as spikes, wind tunnels, boxes and saws which require precise timing to overcome.
Power-ups add a layer of tactical play and come in the form of dynamite, boxes that trip opponents up, tornado speed boosters, giant boulders, homing missiles, a freezing ability and a golden hook that pulls the player in first place to last place.

The developers have opted for a simple 2-D comic book art style, with nicely animated characters and a soundtrack that fits the action perfectly.
Games are won over three rounds and typically last little more than five to ten minutes. Single player gameplay is available in the form of a simple storyline but the most fun to be had is playing locally with friends.
SpeedRunners addictive, competitive play gives the title a quality that'll have you coming back for years to come!
