Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles + Turtles in Time (Arcade)

If anyone of you grew up in the 80's and 90's you'd know these two by heart especially now that these two are now available on new arcade cabinets. How do these two hold up today? Turns our quite well! I'll start with the first one, released in 1989, this one allowed 4 players to each play their favorite turtles. You primarily try to rescue April, then Master Splinter, and finally crack down on old Shred Head. the graphics hold up well, even matching the style of the cartoon as well. Also included are actual voices from the show, among my favorites are Rocksteady's "Say your prayers toitles", this dialogue with Bebop "You are dead shell-brain!" "They ain't getting any prettier!" "Watch your mouth slimeball!", and and Krang's "Im invincible!". The gameplay however is a bit basic, just an attack button and jump button, pressing the two simultaneously unleashes a one-hit-kill swipe, though Raphael has a rolling attack, and on occasion a throw is used, but this is random.

Now for Turtles in Time, this game improves upon the previous in every way including graphics, music and gameplay as you battle Shredder and his henchmen across the vortex of time and space. You get more moves including a throw move, dash attacks, slammers, and special moves between turtles such as Leo's sword spin, Mike's nunchuk wave, Don's long kick, and Raph's roundhouse kick. You square off against well-known and underrated foes such as Tokka and Razer from the 2nd movie, Cement man, Leatherhead, Pizza monsters, and Metalhead, along with Fly Baxter Stockman. The music is catchy as all get out, and the graphics actually match the style of the cartoon a lot more.

Overall, both of these are definitely worth your time.
