Time for another old arcade review! This one features the great rock band Aerosmith as you try to take down the New Order Nation headed by the vamp Helga (played by Kerri Hoskins who would later play Sonya Blade in MK3). You are armed with a sonic music weapon that fires orbs and CD's. You take on a wide range of NON boys, ninjas (look like power rangers), Natives, drones, a helicopter, and a few machines and monsters. The graphics are digitized realtime including the Aerosmith members that you have to rescue (more a little later). There are some surreal moments such as a slime skull that launches eyeballs, and the big bad turning into an even bigger, badder dude. There is blood which sometimes looks cool sometimes not, though I will admit the raining blood effect looks cool. The sound is spectacular especially featuring Areosmith's famous songs like "Eat the Rich" "Sweet Emotion" and "Walk this Way" This game was ported but they all stink. The bullets look cool here, but other version they look like peashots! Pathetic! Ports also loop the songs and sound is drowned. If you listen carefully some of the programmers put some lines from Monty Python and the Holy Grail such as "It's just a flesh wound" There's also a centipede boss in the rainforest stage that wasn't present in many ports. Find this version and avoid all the others.
How to get the Areosmith members:
1.) Tom Hamilton - at the start of the club you must select your route. I recommend picking either left or right and then when you go in go in the same direction you chose and shoot the restroom signs. With any luck you should shoot the stalls and Tom is yours.
2.) Steven Tyler - in the club's main center, shoot the marlins and then shoot the glass, you'll follow the ladder and Steven is yours.
3.) Joe Perry - he's in the amazon stage, when you enter the complex find the floor that has 4 babes chaned and a large sewer drain. Free the babes and then shoot the drain till the hole is visible. You'll see Joe jamming as he flies.
4.) Joey Kraemer - in the Egypt stage shoot the sphynxs' noses and the CD's and Joey will ask to hitch a ride.
5.) Brad Whitford - he's in the Pacific Rim stage follow routes 2, 8, and 9, and shoot the boxes until you find an icon with an arrow Brad will be riding a power lifter.
