Spider-man 2 (GBA)

This review is based on actual gameplay (through emulation)

Spider-man 2 is one of my all-time favorite movies and even though I haven't played the console versions, this one comes close to having a genuine experience surprisingly despite the limitations. The graphics are quite good for the characters and environments, ironically the worst are the 3D areas where you swing and climb buildings. The sound is quite good from catchy ambient music to nice mixture of yells including Spidey's pained yells whenever he gets hit. The gameplay is quite awesome from basic punches to jump kicks, to web slinging ranging from swinging to offensive web splats against foes. Speaking of which, though this game follows the movie, more scenarios including classic foes have been added to increase the fun. Besides Doctor Octopus, you'll also square off against Rhino, Mysterio, Shocker, and Lizard. Each boss fight is different in styles instead of feeling like a redundant beat-em-up. Even better is you can gain experience to increase your move arsenal from uppercuts, to kicks, throws and slams, plus combos, decreased damage, better jumping, even learn to fire a web net! The original Spider-man on GBA was great but this one blows it all out of the water.
