The Monster Squad (Unreleased Commodore 64)

Postby Zack Burner » October 25th, 2020, 5:35 pm

With Halloween this Saturday, I've decided to review an unreleased game based off an 80's cult classic that I happen to enjoy a lot. Basically you're some random kid (I think it's either Sean or Eugene from the movie) as you have wooden stakes as your weapon that you shoot at the 4 monsters such as Dracula, The Wolfman, The Gill Man, and the Mummy. The gameplay has you moving up some narrow corridor trying to avoid or shoot the monsters. Not too many people get past the first monster, the Wolfman since he appears so randomly, then you face the Gill Man who can move through walls, followed by the Mummy who can launch his bandages at you, and finally Dracula who moves fast and has a wide zigzag movement. Movement is terribly slow though at least shooting is fast. The only way I know how to play this is grab a C64 emulator and get the rom off this website:

You'll find it at the end of the multi-part synopsis.
