STAR WARS JEDI ARENA / Atari 2600 / D

What HAPPENED here!?? The first Parker Bros. Star Wars game, EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, was great.......blocky graphics, but exciting DEFENDER like gameplay.

With all the exciting scenes in the first three movies, they chose Lukes TRAINING with the little floating NERF BALL for cripesake?!

This game offends most women I know.......its one good point. ( : The Light sabers are kinda um......well, you know.

The "game" if you can call it that is simply a matter of swooshing a yellow line back and forth trying to deflect lightning bolts from the "seeker"....... but you really have very little control over anything at all here. And you don't even get to directly BATTLE anything, its more a defensive game then anything. The graphics are terrible, just colored blobs and static. As usual Parker put the efforts into sound, with nice theme music and sizzling lightning bolt effects. This barely qualifies as a STAR WARS game though.

Parker Bros. did make some nice 2600 carts, FROGGER, Q*BERT, SPIDERMAN, EMPIRE, POPEYE.......but this one is a dog all the way. It goes right in the I'LL NEVER PLAY THAT AGAIN pile dudes!
