2020/12/18: Dreamcast: Arcade Racing Legends
This homebrew took a while to win me over but I really like it now. Comments?

Enjoyed this review. It's nice to see that the DC has become a good home for homebrew games. Does the system require any mods to play homebrew games?

No. Apparently this is from Europe but region free.

Well somebody on Twitter pointed out another bug with this game, which prompted me to update the review.
Apparently in the split-screen player two never gets credit for winning a race, even after he clearly did. He just passes through the finish line and stops. When player one finally comes around he proclaimed the winner. If nothing else this bug would be fun to prank your friends with. "Hey I crossed the finish line first!" "Sorry, it says *I* won!"
Normally I would have stumbled upon a bug like this with friends, but with the Covid situation I haven't had anyone around to play split-screen with (although I did at least try it).
Anyway an egregious bug like this is kind of hard to overlook (camel meet straw) so I knocked the grade down from B+ to B-. Still a fun game, but clearly flawed.
Fair?

Maybe, knock it a quarter point? That would bring it down to a B vs a B-.
It is the Christmas season after all.
I wonder if the testers were also under similar covid restrictions?

I'll raise it to a B once they put out a patch.
Sike.

Sounds like a fair deduction. That pretty much kills the 2-player gameplay, especially for a close race when you can’t tell the winner. You’re basically left with the honor system.

I've heard some say this has a Sega Rally feel to it with regards to the handling model. Did you find this to be the case? I love sega rally

At least it doesn't say "You're Winner!" like Big Riggs does.

Can this still be purchased? I'd love to give a new DC racing game a whirl. Maybe they'll do another run with that bug fixed...lol
