Let's hear your comments on my review of Jurassic Park for the Sega Master System.

Just recently discovered it, and it was a pleasant surprise.

Wow I didn't realize the SMS was releasing games that late. It's especially surprising since the Genesis had already been released 4 years earlier. Wow. Good review.

Well with the water electrified at least it’s a good reason to die when you touch it! Unlike all the other games that touching water means insta-death.

Blows my mind the longevity of the SMS. I mean Jurassic Park did come out in 1993, I guess it only missed the last Atari 2600 release by 2 years (1 year for Europe) :)

Everything on the SMS looks considerably better than the NES to me; not sure why the system didn't fare better in the USA. It's one of those systems like the Turbografx that can easily "pass" for 16 bit.

Nintendo licensing - pure and simple. Nintendo made it next to impossible for other consoles (like the Master System) to get proper third party support. In regions where no licensing arrangement existed (e.g. outside of the US and Japan), the Master System wiped the floor with the NES because the SMS is technically superior in just about every way.

Brazil in particular had new Master System game releases up until 1996 and even today still sells consoles with built in games.

How did they get around the licensing issue by the time the Genesis came around?

I would love to see an Atari 2600 Jurassic Park game.
