Wow you are really going for it with the start of the season. this was when the games were fun. Plus you do not need a phd in sports science to figure out what is going on.

Gameplay is so much more important than graphics especially by this time when baseline graphics we’re getting so good.
Madden was definitely guilty of loading down gameplay with stupid unneeded gimmicks instead of just getting the gameplay right.

I love how you mentioned that air horn, and it's true that it can ruin a game. Something small like that. It reminds me of MLB The Show 18 where they had this obnoxious kid in the stands who was constantly screaming. About the last thing I want to listen to on my free time is someone's bratty kid.

However, unlike PS1, in 2018 they were able to patch that kid out. So many people complained about it. Unfortunately in 2001 you were stuck with the game that shipped.
