I'm not huge into sports games, but I had fun with the Super Mega Baseball 3 demo I downloaded for PS4. You should give that a try, I'd like to see what you think of it.

To this day, World Series Baseball '98 is my favorite baseball videogame of all-time

I made a slight modification to the first review, after my friend Eric reminded me that every player at the plate looks like Hammerin' Hank Aaron. Kind of a funny (and true) observation.

As someone from Europe, I never played any baseball videogame nor I'm intend to do so... so it always amazes me how many of those you review! ...then again I played quite a bunch of soccer games...

I owned the first one, eventually traded it in for World Series baseball 2 which I played lots. I think I rented the 3D polygonal WSB 98, but didn’t see the need to buy it. but a few years ago I saw it in a retro shop and picked it up and played it all summer. WSB II is still my fave. I don’t like baseball games overall, but these Saturn ones are fast paced and fun.

I enjoyed seeing updated reviews of all 3. These are really enjoyable and well written reviews! I like the details and reasons that you put in all of them.

I too loved WS Baseball II. I tried 98, but at the time I wasn’t ready to embrace the newer “3D” models so I quickly went back to WS II. This is one of a couple games that made me actually keep a Saturn & revisit it from time to time.

The “Create a Player” feature in this game is really unique. You can give each player a modification & depending on the combination of the modifier it creates some unusual abilities. I remember tinkering with it a bit & made a team full of a bunch of sluggers. They were pretty awesome. Ahhhh the good ol’ days.

For years WSB 98 was seen as the benchmark for baseball games on consoles. I couldn't read baseball game reviews without comparisons being made as to why it wasn't as good as this game. Not being a Saturn owner at the time, I never got to try it. I just remember it for that reason.
