Critic, you were right on the money with 007 and Karate- I KNEW you'd trash Karate! That game is soooo bad, I too would venture to say it is worse then Skeet Shoot or Ssssnake!...at least those games are "playable" for a few minutes, Karate is just pathetic! I own 007 and it is very sad they starred a bond VEHICLE rather than 007 himself (although the game has a cool opening screen); they should have gone with train hopping!

I don't think Jungle Hunt should score so high, it hasn't aged well on the 2600 compared to games like Phoenix and Ms.Pac Man. It is a decent efforts, but there is too much missing and the "ending" is a real anticlimax. No boiling pot, nothing to "save" your girl from, just a tango in the jugle to the beat of "THE LION SLEEPS TONIGHTTTT"...

I never played 'Jungle Hunt' on the arcade when I was a kid, only the Atari 2600 version.  I picked up the recently-released 'Taito Arcade Collection' for XBox and what do you know, there's the arcade version of 'Jungle Hunt' included in the disc.  Try as I did though, I just didn't feel the fun and excitement of playing the arcade version that I can still get from playing the Atari 2600 cartrdige I still own.  Guess your first time really is the greatest!

I couldn't stop laughing at the Bee Gee's part in your review.

Your James Bond review proves that this game sucked on all platforms.  I used to have the C64 cart and aside from being a poor moon patrol ripoff, this game had nothing to do with the movie other than the theme song and opening graphics.

After trying "Karate" on the Stella emulator, I have to say that a single "LOL!" would have sufficed for a review. That it came out in 1987 and not 1977 makes it the most hilariously awful game ever. Decent for a few chuckles but I seriously pity anyone who paid good money at the time.

...Actually, KARATE and CONDOR ATTACK (an equally awful LOL game) came out first way back in 1982, made in seriously limited quanitities by a company that barely lasted 6 months, ULTRAVISION (they were going to market a game system/computer/TV set all in one that tanked big time)...the original UV carts with the T-bar handles are worth big bucks now; however, in 1987-88, these and other games were ripped off and re-sold (sometimes with slightly different titles) by PANDA , TECHNOVISION and some other "get rich quick" companies. They mostly seemed to grab really awful games that no one was going to bother to try and fight over anyway (SKIN DIVER was another really, really awful game like these, so bad in fact that to this day NO ONE will claim that THEY made it, so gamers still don't know where it originated!) - such was the thing that caused the market crash, too much of too little...

I fully agree with the Jungle Hunt review. The game for me, was/is a blast! I mean, this game has a Jungle, Ocean and Land level. Including a boss, an ending.

+ Difficulty levels = Cool.
