I really want a Wii U now. I know everyone is calling it a failure because people like to hop on bandwagons and it's the cool thing to do, but I think it's gonna do alright. It's gonna be like the 3DS in that everyone hated it at first and called it a failure, but then a bunch of awesome games came out for it, and now everyone loves it. I have a feeling it's going to be the same for the Wii U.

Mr. Critic seems to like bumping down past games a half letter grade without publicly mentioning it every time he encounters a better game of a similar genre on the same console. It happened with Super Mario Galaxy when he reviewed Super Mario Galaxy 2, and it's happened now with Rayman Legends, Super Mario 3D World and New Super Mario Bros. U after reviewing Tropical Freeze. At the Wii U's rate of pumping out high-quality platformers that trump "predecessors", don't be surprised if, by the end of the U's life, SM3DW ends up with a D grade on this site.

No it won't.
3DS is hitting a wall as we speak. 3DS did rebound, but the growth cycle is smaller and shorter lived then what should have been expected.
Only a massive over haul of software pricing will get Nintendo mass market penetration again.
The Wii U is a niche machine with fantastic AAA big budget software, and at this moment it is the only machine in that class, but it may soon have company?

Interesting thoughts Sega, with the AAA titles coming out on Wii U at the moment and slow down in 3DS do you think Nintendo are struggling to keep both consoles plate spinning ? Is this the big draw back with the smaller third party support ? Nintendo still make great games but can they produce enough software for 2 systems at a high enough release frequency ?
