This looks really interesting... I'm wondering how big of a learning curve this game had before you could get the hang of it? Games like this seem fun but usually feel slow to start so I rarely have the patience to stick with them. Still, this sounds interesting.

Thanks to the keyboard overlay, the learning curve was surprisingly shallow. You can pick up the basics in just a game or two (and the game has training scenarios you can select to get familiar with game gradually), and once you have the basics you can start working on learning tactics. It definitely takes some time to learn the subtle nuances required to take on really big or more advanced enemies successfully but you'll enjoy yourself and not feel overwhelmed right out of the gate. I can't imagine trying to play it without the keyboard overlay though.
Having said that, patience is required just due to the nature of the game... subs are not jet fighters, and slowly stalking your prey and setting the enemy up for the perfect ambush is simply the nature of the beast.
