I think the Call of Duty formula is wearing thin.
I might have thought better of this if it wasn't on the Xbox One.

I played this on the 360, so I can't really comment on this version, but I quite enjoyed this game and would definitely give it a B+ at least, I don't think the formula is "wearing thin" and definitely don't think the franchise is in decline in the least, I think it's still pretty damn good.  My biggest complaint about the campaign is the ending makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, still excited for the sequel though.

There actually IS an auto-save, but unfortunately it seems the PS4 and XB1 versions have a glitch where the auto-save will sometimes just refuse to trigger, though I never experienced this issue on the 360 version.

I looked at this title when it was being released and was like.  It has dogs in it.  Superb.  Then I went out with a pal and her dog and did not buy it.  Though I got the dog a jumbone.
It really looks bad.  I have not bothered getting it and do not think I will.  Now I have read your review I am not going to get it.

Nothing outpaces the original COD and COD 2.

Nothing.

I'm honestly surprised you felt like the series wasn't on a decline earlier... IMO- It's been the same game for years with only minimal upgrades each time... It's basically a sports title...

Still, good review. You could use a comma after the "Unfortunately" but there were no real errors.

This over-rated series has been on the decline for a while now. With that said, critic you should have gotten the PS4 version. At least it looks better for what it's worth.
Third parties are having issues getting their games to run at 1080p native on Xbox One without sacrificing frame rate. They will soon figure it out though. Microsoft proved it can be done with Forza.

I definitely wouldn't equate COD with something as overrated and overhyped as the Madden franchise.

Yep, I agree with Gilly - You should have gotten the PS4 version instead.

I'd recommend getting all multi-plat games on PS4 over the X-one, simply cuz it's a more powerful system. Unless of course, you want to play online. Then you might to go with Xbox Live & the Xbox One version.

Time to get the Wii U version I think.  It is probably worth getting the ps4 for a comparison when it gets a bit cheaper.  Though I think that as the critic did not enjoy this one he should wait for the next one which looks like call of Titanfall...

Yeah this is definitely a game that is superior on the PS4 both visually and frame rate wise. Like Weekend Gamer I would just go for the XBone exclusives and go PS4 for multi-plats (my opinion).

To be honest I only played Modern Warfare 1&2 then never bothered again, not that they are bad games. I just like to play different games, the only series I wanted to keep playing and pick every instalment are Metal Gear and Uncharted.
