Seriously, you couldn't google Asterix before writing the review? He's like Bugs Bunny over there. He's commom comic book, cartoon, toy, animated feature fodder for children and foreign language students. He's popular in ALL European nations with translations in almost all languages.
He's a Gaul, one of the pre-Roman Empire tribes in the France/Germany region. He's typically butting heads with the Roman legions, Ceasar, local barbarrian tribes etc. He's incredibly clever and quick witted (like Bugs Bunny), always gets the last laugh and always wins. He has a friend named Obelix who's a giant and super strong.
Geeze dude, google is easy, free and at hand if you can post to your blog.

I could have but it would have defeated the purpose of the review.  The intent was to show that the typical American has no idea who this guy is.  I think a review that reflects my initial impression of the game is far more entertaining.

Thanks for the info though.  Didn't mean to offend.

Don't worry, critic, I'm a huge Asterix fan and I found the review quite funny; I smelled a little tongue-in-cheek right away. Now, I wanted to say that Asterix is definitely not an anti-hero; he's pretty much a traditional "flawless" hero, just a little more feisty than usual.
