Photos of Variant Consoles

I noticed that the Sega CD has two photos - one for each model 1 and 2. The Sega Genesis itself only shows the base model 1.
The WiiU has two photos, with a color variation being the only obvious difference. The Jaguar and TG-16 have two photos each showing with and without CD attachments.
Other consoles with variants like the Atari 2600 or PS2 have just one photo. The 3DS has just one photo despite the many versions of 3DS / 2DS / New / regular or supersized. The GBA does not have the SP variant.
It looks like you have formatted for 3 photos, and sometimes a logo or controller take the extra spots (or a double sized logo for the Intellivision, which also has variants).
Is this something that could or should be standardized?
