Does the VGC dislike non-human characters?
Another thing I've always kind of wondered about the VGC based on his reviews. I see so many good, even great games staring anthropomorphic animals and non-human characters get Cs or worse, and then go on to see mediocre games get Bs or better. I've already mentioned a comparison between a few Genesis games staring anthro characters to Greendog the Beached Surfer Dude, but I never got a true response. I also kind of find it odd how big-name franchises tend to get lower scores in games that have animal helpers in there despite arguably being as good as the rest of the series: With Contra Hard Corps and the Zelda: Oracle games both getting C range grades. Every once in a while a game staring an anthro/non-human DOES get a good grade, but I still kind of wonder if something's up. I find it odd that even through all the good games he's had that Sonic The Hedgehog's (Oh knock it off, he DOES have great games) never gotten a single A+, despite someone mentioning to me once that the VGC supposedly likes Sonic more than Mario, who about half his games get A+. (Even when they don't deserve it.)
Deep inside, I cannot help but wonder if the VGC has somewhat of a dislike towards non-human characters from what I've gathered in his reviews.

I dare say it's probably never crossed his mind, if a games good, a games good no matter if the main protagonist is homosapien or anthropomorphic. He does like Classic Sonic games hence why they have a high score and Shadow Dancer has a high score with a dog helper.
So I can't really see your point.

I honestly don't know but shouldn't these topics you keep bringing up be placed in the Videogame General thread? Not saying these aren't solid topics but it just seems out of place for this part of the forum.

This topic is incredibly stupid. I can't think of a nice way to say that

I'm not trying to ask it in a mean way, I've just noticed a patter with a lot of his reviews.

I didn't know where to put this.

He gave Super Metroid an A, and it had animal helpers in two very specific spots, and gave Samus the opportunity to rescue them at the end.
I don't think you've really noticed anything. I just think you imagine things like this. Just for the record, your vacuum cleaner isn't talking to you either.

Uh, excuse me? I'm pretty sure this pattern I've noticed with the reviews is not just me. Also, that's a very minor situation that hardly counts. I'm mostly mentioning notable roles, not things that happen in one or two rooms.
If you want me to provide examples, I probably could after going through the entire site and picking a bunch out. But come on, Dynamite Heady and Rocket Knight Adventures both getting Cs? Also, Earth Worm Jim "Overrated?" Honestly, the last time I heard that game brought up was years ago, do people still talk about that game? People just like it, they don't act like it's the best thing ever made. Gunstar Heroes, on the other hand... THAT game is overrated. It's a good game, but... ...Sidetracking. Never mind.
Honestly, besides earlier Sonic and Crash games, he doesn't seem to give a lot of anthro-staring games high scores. I mean, yeah, quite a lot of them do suck, but when even good ones get bad reviews, it seems a bit suspicious. I'm not trying to start a flame war, I'm just stating something I've noticed.

Does the VGC dislike non-human characters?
This topic is completely ridiculous, the idea that VGC has a bias towards games with non-human characters is total nonsense.
I suggest that someone locks this thread, as it has no purpose whatsoever.

Personally, I think VGC has a real vendetta against games that have the letter "e" in their title. The VGC just does not fancy the letter "e".
