Here is a new set of Genesis reviews. Ex-Mutants is an update (I thought a game deserved a little more credit) but the other two are new.

Oh yes. I remember being incredibly disappointed by "Rastan Saga II" and wondered why the original "Rastan" wasn't ported to the Sega Genesis. They also should have ported the original "Shinobi" even though I love the three "Shinobi" Genesis games we did get.

You might argue Gauntlet has not aged well, but this may be the definitive console version.

Not aged well? It was a marvelously fun game in its day, and aged as well as any contempory arcade game. It does become tedious, but it was a quarter muncher so that is not a fault but a feature. Who is saying Gauntlet has dimmed? Maybe Valkyrie just needs food.

So apparently we all had to reregister --

anyway, Rastan Saga 2, aka Nastar Warrior didn't look much better in the arcade. Which is probably why they called it by Nastar Warrior.

The third game took another turn - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcfu40mXTYk

I think someone made this point a few reviews ago but I think you're reviews are definitely the most comical for bad, old games. I laughed a few times during the Rastan II review and thought it was well done. Your observations were fun too read. It's a piety the game sucks but hey, it was a good review. Thanks.

Bummer about Rastan II. The third one looks good in that video, though I stopped watching on the 2nd stage. Rastan is so cool he should get his own movie. Maybe a crossover where he fights Conan and Red Sonja.

I agree Gauntlet aged poorly. I think "quarter muncher" is a criteria for aging poorly.

There's a wee problem with the review of Ex-Mutants: you recommend playing on Easy difficulty, but doing so cuts you off halfway through the game, whereupon you're told to try a higher difficulty level! The manual says so as well -- gotta play Medium or Hard to see the whole thing, as Easy only gives you the first 4 levels of 8.

Seems like a good excuse to revisit this one! Thanks for bringing to my attention!
