This game has great production values but it's very fun to play.

Did you mean "it's not very fun to play"?

Anyway, I can understand your complaints on the game but I think as a horror game it actually succeeds. The game is quite scary and I don't think it would have the same effect if the enemies were visible, the saving wasn't limited, and you're gun shots didn't need to be rationed. I was salty against it for a while but after I got used to it I actually thought it added a lot of the tension you felt in the game, which elevated the game IMO.

I think the ability to enjoy this game is a function of your patience. It's scary - I'll give you that. But after a while I just threw my hands up.

I tried playing this once but couldn't get into it. I'm much more into horror games now than I used to be though, and I love the Alien films, so I may give it a second chance.

A total snore fest. They used to make games like this that were so unplayable and that is probably why this game was a total flop.

I kind of miss the days when weird games like this one could get a big box release. Games that defy expectations and resist comparison. If you really think about it, there are quite a number of games we label "classics" that aren't actually very fun to play. The Silent Hill games (particularly the well-regarded first two) don't strike me as being very fun but they do tell amazing stories.

When I saw this 3 disk game I thought I am in for such a good time. I bought it put it on and was like errrr. I never got past that stage.
Silent Hill one is superb. Silent Hill 2 is good.
