Apparently Cotton 2 has support for the 4mb RAM cart. Might be worth a mention.

Critic, even though you are not crazy about Cotton 2, it might be a good idea to check out the far better updated remix version dubbed Cotton Boomerang which has many notable changes/additions that are more then worthy of a separate review. More info at HG101: http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/cotton/cotton.htm.

As for The Super Dimension Fortress Macross game. It actual name is The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love? which is based on the 1984 Anime Movie of the same name.: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macross:_ ... er_Love%3F. The game was actually published by Bandai (now Bandai Namco) not Big West (the main company that owns the Japanese Media series, more on this later.) and worth pointing out is Bandai does a lot of merchandising for the franchise in Japan.: http://segaretro.org/Choujikuu_Yousai_M ... e_Imasu_ka. The game itself is more appreciated if you watched the actual film in either English subtitles or the low quality Toho Dub to a lesser degree which is hard to find. (It also had a heavily edited for kids version under the title Clash of the Bionoids released in the states BTW.). But I do not think it will change the game play because, most Macross Video Games are not all that good. And mind you this is not your first exposure to the franchiser to Macross/Robotech as you did review the poorly received GBA game Robotech: The Macross Saga which is the full title BTW: http://videogamecritic.com/gbamr.htm?e=81677#rev1022. If you do want the best Macross video game experience. The one to track down is the well received SNES/Super Famicom game called Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Scrambled Valkyrie which is very good not as a Macross title, but also as a game in general. More info on Wikipedia/YouTube: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Dim ... d_Valkyrie and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJO7qg0a0pw. But the reason this game never came state side along with the vast majority of games with the license is because of the licensing issues with both Harmony Gold USA for both Macross and Robotech in the US and Big West in Japan for Macross. More info on Kotaku about the situation.: http://kotaku.com/5990702/why-you-haven ... y-15-years. And worth pointing out is the actual Macross series has been dub/translated as it original incarnation thanks to the now defunct ADV films along with Harmony Gold USA and sub only DVD released by AnimEigo with Harmony Gold USA. And worth pointing out for both the original TV series/Do You Remember Love? movie and the game. The songs are sung by the famous Mari Iijima, who does live in my state of California and I also live near where the Macross World Convention is held in Torrance near where I live. Now being renamed as Super Dimension Convention.

People should not use most of the games as a measuring stick for the Anime itself as it is a very good series to watch and if anyone here want to watch it. I will post links for the franchise if they are interested.

Any idea what the 4MB RAM cart does? I'm using it, by the way.

Sonic -
A short concise answer is much preferable to a series of links.
I rarely click on links in forum messages or emails.

The main thing it improves is graphics and adds a few extra aduio samples to the game. This is similar to the N64 expanshin pack. But other then that its rather substul.

Apparently it just adds some voice lines that are not present otherwise due to RAM limitations.

Cotton 2 "lacks atmosphere" LOL

The game is chock-full of atmosphere! The screenshot featured in the review is enough proof of that.
