The score seems a bit low for a game you like.

Also, I thought the game sold about 2 million copies. I’d say that’s the opposite of releasing to little fanfare.

I feel the series kinda lost its ambition and even the overall design felt less and less inspired after Nintendo took over Hudson Soft's work. Can't say much for Mario Party 9, but Mario Party 10 was extremely bland and barebones, also the content locked behind Amiibos is a huge middle finger when it includes boards to play on. And here I had thought Mario Party 8 was dull, eh maybe I was just burnt out at the time.

Mario Party 6 is still the very best out of all those I played (4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10).

I'm wondering if I should pick that one up, it looks good from what I've seen on videos, but I don't have friends who'd play Mario Party with me nowadays, and online is strictly just mini-games (which is bull). The idea of a more strategic style of play with the different dices is attractive though.
