Arch Rivals is one of the funnest arcade games I've ever played. I'm not surprised the console ports might not be as good because when I was playing Arch Rivals in the arcades, it was light years ahead of what the consoles were doing. I guess that fits into the era from the late 80's to mid 90's when arcade games were far more advanced than consoles.

I had heard of arch rival in the arcade. Not being a comic book fan this Wolverine game passed me by. Though I loved comment about wolverine not being able to walk up the stairs. Playing Shellshock on xbox. The character had to traverse a jungle but got stopped by a blade of grass. I was like this is a marine and they cannot get past a blade of grass? So I feel for Wolverine.

Rare an easy cheap shot in a review makes me laugh, but the Saturn boxes? That was a three point slam dunk. Well done.

I remember playing Arch Rivals on the Amtrak when I was a kid on the Game Gear. It was great when I happened to have a seat next to an outlet because even with the battery pack, I could only play like three games otherwise. I enjoyed it for a bit, but got bored quick. The lack of an NBA license sucked, but I could always pretend I was the Blazers, Bulls, or Knicks.
Nice review. When I sober up, I might have to mosey on over to the classic game store a couple miles away to see if they don't have a copy of it for the Genesis.

How did you think Arch Rivals compared to the arcade version, VGC?

Yessir. I think it's on Midway Arcade Treasures Vol 2, I believe, for PS2, XBOX.
