Here's a pair of new Atari 2600 games. Super Challenge Baseball is a re-review (same grade) but Treasure Island is new.
Thoughts?

It's too bad about Treasure Island; it looks good. What is it with 2600 developers getting good, Activision-style graphics then messing up the game play?

Received an insightful email about this game:
Hi Video Game Critic,
Thanks for your commitment to the humble Atari VCS. I know you are a true Atari lover when you get around to reviewing an obscurity like Treasure Island!
In your review you were unsure how to reach the island. Islands appear now and then in the upper right of the screen, but when a Treasure Island appears, it has two black marks on it (they look to me like cave entries, and also a bit like the whales but smaller). You then have a small amount of time in which you can move your ship past the normal rightward boundary all the way to the island and land there. This gets you a flashing screen, a load of points, a new ship and a harder stage.
It's... not totally amazing and your grade of D- won't need to change a bit
Keep up the good work! Your site is my first go-to when I want to find out about an old game I just heard of.

I'm just happy to learn there's another 2600 game where they just drew a duck and didn't realize it.
It's such a bizarrely specific problem.
