Re: 20th Anniversary Message
An enjoyable history of VGC. I happened upon the site about may 2000 or 2001. I was living around the corner from Chelsea football club dating this horrible (one of many unfortunately) woman. So I used to go to this internet cafe in North End road, in the days before I had a dreamcast. I used to look at the Atari reviews on the Atari age and one day I saw the forums. I have been here ever since. It might have been 5 years of reading the site before I noticed the forums.
I still read the Atari stuff a lot. Plus my current console the 1. Well pretty much everything.

Re: 20th Anniversary Message
Glad we all convinced you to do a little something for the anniversary! Great write-up - brought back some memories and laughs.. especially the part about your friends threatening to connect your consoles to the internet. I imagine there's no worse offense in the VGC household. Sounds like the theme of a VGC horror movie, maybe throwing in some marauding day-one patches and streaming services for good measure.

Re: 20th Anniversary Message
Loved the 20th anniversary update. You think almost exactly like I do when it comes to reviewing games, and I agree with what you said 95% of your reviews are dead on. I wish I had the ability to write in create such a fantastic website like you do but I don't. But trust me I visit this site almost daily since 2009 or so. Great write-up Dave and congrats again! One of my all-time favorite websites. It takes me away all the bad stuff in the world. Thanks Dave!

Re: 20th Anniversary Message
Brent seems to be intent on planning Video Game Mania X, rounding up everybody we know.
It's not out of the realm of possibility.

ZetaX dug up an old version of the site dating back to 2001! Wow.
No screenshots but the reviews are pretty great.

Dave,
I appreciate the kind words in the write-up regarding the banners and redesign/mobile site input i was able to give. Hopefully we'll both still be doing this for another 20 years, which seems weird because we'll both be around 70... Yikes!
Keep up the good work.

That is wicked cool. I forgot you used to have the consoles listed on the side, I liked that layout. Congrats on 20 years! I hope you have 20 more. I really like the site. Heck I am not even a "retro" gamer or collector but enjoy reading the reviews nonetheless. Anyway keep up the great work as always!
