I have never played games on the early Atari computers or the XEGS, nor have I ever watched anyone else. Yet every time you review these games, I can feel myself being drawn closer and closer to acquiring an XEGS.

They remind me of the computer games we were occasionally allowed to play at school on the Apple IIe, and the early computer games I played on my family's first 286 computer we got for Christmas in 1990.

i totally know what you mean in your review when you said the Atari magazines were getting thinner and thinner..i had an 800XL at that time and it was depressing to go to Babbages and see tons of C64 games on the shelf and in the corner there would be a small section of Atari games...when new releases started to dry up i found this BBS that had some new Atari games that they didn't have on my local BBS's or in the stores but unfortunately i live in Chicago and the BBS was in Denver and when the phone bill came my dad killed me lol so i had to stop that..but i do remember one of the late releases i found on that BBS it was called "Mirax Force"

Critic have you ever played a game on the Atari computer called "Cycle Knight"? me and my friends loved that game back in 86..its one of the strangest games you have ever seen but if you learn it its totally worth it

I had never heard of Cycle Knight till now, but man, that looks really cool. I'll try to track down a copy.

A reader on Twitter told me there was a separate Atari XEGS version of Choplifter, which was basically the same game with better graphics. I asked him if he was thinking about the Atari 7800 version, but he said no. I looked on ebay but couldn't find anything. Anybody know what he's talking about?
