...inspired by the recent announcement that Mad Magazine is ceasing publication this year.

I remember ogling magazine ads for these games back in the early- to mid-1980s. Never did get to play them on a computer, but later played the NES version of the first game, which was underwhelming. Apparently the sequel was ported too, but only in Japan.
I must say there's something uncommonly nostalgic about seeing 8-bit, low-color renditions of beach scenes. The Tandy Color Computer only had four colors in hi-res mode -- blue, orange-red, black, white -- and a few of its graphic adventure games started out on the beach or in the desert. The sky was blue, while the sand could be done pretty well with intermixed red and white in various patterns. Ah, those were the days.

So I was putting Sqoon on the shelf, and noticed Spy Vs Spy for the NES. I wondered, have I ever reviewed this?
So I checked the site, and I found the review dated July 2, 2000 - 19 years ago.
The weird thing is, this review is practically IDENTICAL to the one I just wrote for the Atari XEGS. I didn't do that on purpose.
Scary!!

Always liked this game on the NES - it was one that I played growing up. I knew it was flawed in many ways, but still had fun with it anyway. It's best as a 2-player game, so some of your multiplayer icons might be useful for the game - especially "head to head".
