2020/2/20: Game Boy: Batman, Batman: Return of the Joker, Batman Forever

Postby VideoGameCritic » February 20th, 2020, 5:28 pm

I'm spinning off my Batman Special to have its own mobile games page. So I'm going back to replay the ones I have, and picked up the ones I was missing.

The new review here is Return of the Joker; the other two are touch-ups.

Comments encouraged!

Glad you noted the music from the Game Boy Batman. That first tune is one of my favorite from the era, and shows the surprisingly good audio that the Gameboy was capable of despite its simplistic display. It sounds as good or better than almost anything from the NES. Leave it to Sunsoft to squeeze the best music out of a system...

Yeah I should probably add the "great music" icon to that one.

Wasn't expecting to see Bat-Mite mentioned. Had a nice chuckle at that.

Oh, the list of games that would include that icon...

Return of the Joker Game Boy is decent on the surface, until you finally admit that the controls for the grapple are not reliable to do what you want without many hours of practice and luck just to get through level one...
