This is the last of my barrage of Batman portable game reviews. Batman Begins is a minor update (same grade). Feedback welcome.

It's so crazy that in the early 2ks, Movies like "Batman Begins" were on track for a Bluray release, but also getting 16 bit handheld console releases. Elf is another example. Such a small crossover in the venn diagram of media eras.....lol

Minor typo in Batman Begins, but I believe you were referring to "duking" it out (or duke it out) rather than "dook".

It's interesting that the Batman Begins review is still written from a 2005 perspective. Indie games like Cuphead and Hollow Knight have been part of a major resurgence for 2D platform games on home consoles this past decade.

Typo in the Vengeance review: "The first stage is set rooftops" – missing "on".

The GBA is a 32-bit system, and the Blu-ray standard was introduced in 2006, well after the DS had superseded the GBA and three years after Elf.

Thanks for the corrections guys. I guess "dooking" it out would mean throwing poop at each other!

Nice reviews on all those Batman games on the GBC and GBA - I actually never heard of any of them!
As said, I Iiked Batman Origins for the 3DS quite a bit as a portable handheld Batman game.
Furthermore, did you know Batman: The Brave and Bold was also released for the original Nintendo DS? (You reviewed the Wii version, which I didn't like too much).

Thanks for letting me know about Brave and Bold for the DS, Captain. I might have to track down a copy of that next time I'm gainfully employed.

Yeah Batman Begins is a really good game. I wish the music consisted of more than seven tracks but it also pushes the limits of the GBA hardware and really is a great collection of sound. The GBA really included so many great games that a lot of its quality titles were more obscure like this one.

Excluding the Arkham games, this is probably my favorite Batman game. Love the wide selection of weapons to use and fighting is a lot of fun. Stealth missions as the critic said can be tedious but they're worth it because the game's challenge is fair without being discouraging.

Seconding that recommendation. I even gave it a shout out after your last set of Batman reviews. it's got an old school mentality that avoids many of the traps Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance Batman kept falling into.

Batman Begins is great, the graphics and gameplay are really good for a GBA game, the combat system is awesome, it's something you would like to see on a home console on a big tv screen.
