2020/6/16: Bally Astrocade: ICBM Attack, Sneaky Snake, Mazeman

I'm digging pretty deep in my Astrocade library. Good thing I have a multicart.
Thoughts?

I googled the controller for ICBM Attack and I wasn't sure if I was looking at an original, or someone's DIY project but that thing was pretty large and pretty intricate (especially for '82). I can't imagine what this game would have cost to ship if it was mass produced (if it had made it that far). Reminds me of the Star Raiders Atari 2600 controls, only way bulkier.

Mazeman looks far worse than Muncher, the quintessential PacMan clone for Bally. I'm surprised someone would even attempt a homebrew of this after seeing Muncher, a game that came out 2 years earlier. I've never played Mazeman, but it looks more like the PacMan the 2600 deserved. Thanks for reviewing it

Interesting games, especially ICBM Attack. Typo alert in the last sentence of ICBM Attack... it says "not really playable in its current". Missing the word "form" at the end.

Excellent feedback as usual guys. I fixed the ICBM typo, and also removed the first like of the Mazeman review. I had totally forgotten about Muncher when I wrote that.

Nice, very pleased to see these reviews (and that all three games were a bit better than I'd expected).

Indeed, you've dug so deep, there's literally only one officially-released Astrocade game left to review, and it's -- drumroll --

Elementary Math/Bingo Math!

Might not seem like a barnburner of a title, but you did review Biorhythm after all. You could also review the Soccer prototype (which is believed to be complete IIRC), and the Checkers/Backgammon prototype if you've got it on your multicart.

That'd be three reviews and -- barring any future homebrew reviews -- you'd be done with the Astrocade library! I hope you have an icon to award yourself for a completed review set. :)

BTW Critic, I don't know if you saw my post here --

https://videogamecritic.com/forums/view ... 55#p175105

-- but there's a hacked version of ICBM Attack called Missile Attack that allows you to play the game with one controller. Is that one on your multicart?

I"m just going to say how cool to get Bally Astrocade reviews.

I always enjoy maze games, in all their varieties.
