2020/9/7: Genesis: PGA Tour Golf, Leader Board Golf

Let's hear your comments on these two 16-bit golf titles. Leader Board is new. PGA is a B+ to A- update.

If you had given it an a plus it would have been the first for a Genesis Title ... apparently.

I have PGA Golf II and it is still a lot of fun after all these years. Good solid reviews.

If you review PGA Tour Golf II & PGA Tour Golf III after this, I think the grades could reflect an A and an A+, respectively. Those games are all still fun to play today, and the third has 8 courses and some sweet digitized pro swings when you play skins or match play against them.

I've never played Leader Board, but I'm going to keep my eye open for it when I'm hunting for games.

I’ve been meaning to check out the Mega Drive PGA games for a while, they sound like they hold up well.

Seen a lot about Leader Board on Master System, MD and GG in old issues of Sega Pro quoting the same about it being the top golf sim on computers. None ever really mentioned how it compared to the original but still seemed to give it slightly underwhelming scores compared to its reputation. Any idea if it didn’t transition well or was just outdated by the time the console version came along?

You say “waiting for someone to pull up the putting grid is annoying”, but isn’t it necessary in order to make your putt shots? Are you implying that you can sink putts well enough without using the grid?
